If you’re searching for an affordable, reliable web hosting provider, you’ve probably come across Hostinger. With prices starting as low as $1.99/month, it almost sounds too good to be true. So, we decided to test it out—and after using Hostinger for a while, we have a lot to share!
In this review, we'll walk you through what we love about Hostinger, what we think could be better, and whether we recommend it.

When we were looking for a hosting provider, we had two key things in mind:
🗸 Ease of use – Since we’re not super techy, we needed something simple and beginner-friendly.
🗸Good performance – A slow website can be frustrating, so we wanted something fast and reliable.
Hostinger checked all these boxes, so we decided to give it a try.
Why We Chose Hostinger?
OUR EXPERIENCE WITH HOSTINGER
Setting Up Was Easier Than Expected
We were a bit skeptical at first, but it turned out to be much easier than we thought! The signup process was quick, and within minutes, we had access to hPanel (Hostinger’s custom control panel).
Unlike cPanel, which can feel overwhelming, hPanel is clean, simple, and easy to navigate. The fonts are easy on the eyes, and the layout feels welcoming rather than intimidating. Everything is neatly categorized, making it easy to install WordPress, set up emails, and manage our website without feeling lost.
What really stood out to us was how beginner-friendly the experience was. We didn’t even need to look up tutorials or contact support—it was that intuitive! At the same time, Hostinger’s plans cater to both beginners and advanced users, so if you ever need to upgrade or expand, it’s all set up to grow with you.
See the image below—it gives you a glimpse of how clean and beginner-friendly the interface is!

Website Speed & Performance – Is It Actually Fast?
One of our biggest concerns when choosing a hosting provider was speed—because let’s be honest, a slow website can drive visitors away. So, we decided to put Hostinger to the test and see how well it actually performs.
Our Experience with Speed & Uptime
📍 Loading Time: ~1.2 seconds (which is impressive for shared hosting!)
📶 Uptime: 99.98% so far, meaning our site is almost never down.
We were genuinely impressed! Hostinger uses LiteSpeed servers, which are optimized for performance, and it really shows. Of course, things like image optimization and caching plugins can make your site even faster, but overall, the experience has been smooth.
Our GTmetrix Speed Test Results
📊 Overall Performance: 87% (Fast, stable, and reliable!)
🛠️ Structure Score: 96% (Well-optimized with a clean setup)
Web Vitals Breakdown
✔ LCP (Largest Contentful Paint): 2.3s (Loads fairly quickly!)
✔ TBT (Total Blocking Time): 18ms (Smooth and responsive)
✔ CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift): 0.16 (Minimal unexpected shifts)

What This Means for Our Website
✔ Pages load quickly, which is great for user experience.
✔ Minimal delays, though like any shared hosting, speeds can fluctuate at peak times.
✔ Hostinger’s LiteSpeed servers help with performance, but if you're running a large or resource-heavy site, you may need to optimize further with caching and image compression.
For an affordable hosting provider, the results are solid. While it may not be the absolute fastest option out there, it strikes a good balance between cost and performance—making it a practical choice for many website owners.
Customer Support – Mixed Feelings Here
Hostinger offers 24/7 live chat support, which is great. However, there’s no phone support, so if you prefer speaking to someone directly, this might be a downside.
Our experience? Support was responsive, but during peak hours, we had to wait 5-10 minutes for a reply. The good thing is that their help articles are well-written, so most of the time, we found answers without needing to contact support.
If you’re patient and okay with live chat, it’s not a big deal. But if you want instant responses, it might be frustrating at times.
What We Love About Hostinger
✔ Super affordable pricing – Perfect for beginners and small businesses.
✔ Easy-to-use interface – The hPanel is way more beginner-friendly than traditional cPanel.
✔ Fast speeds – LiteSpeed servers help your website load quickly.
✔ Extras that make setup easier – Includes essential features like SSL, domain (with select plans), and a user-friendly website builder
✔ Scalable options – You can upgrade as your site grows (from shared hosting to VPS).
What Could Be Better?
❌ No phone support – The 24/7 live chat is helpful, but sometimes, speaking to a real person over the phone would be faster.
❌ Limited features for blogs – There’s no built-in blog search option, which can make navigation harder for content-heavy sites.
❌ Basic design tools – While the interface is beginner-friendly, the simplicity might be a downside if you need advanced customization or a more complex website.
❌ Daily backups aren’t free – Unless you’re on a higher-tier plan, you’ll need to pay extra for daily backups.
❌ Discounted price only applies to long-term plans – To get the lowest rate, you need to commit to 48 months. Month-to-month pricing is noticeably higher.
Yes—especially if you're looking for affordable, beginner-friendly hosting.
If you’re starting a blog, a small business website, or even an online store, Hostinger is a great option. It’s budget-friendly, easy to use, and performs surprisingly well for the price.
However, if you run a high-traffic website or need premium support, you might want to consider alternatives like SiteGround or Cloudways.
Would We Recommend Hostinger?
✔ Best for: Beginners, bloggers, small business owners.
❌ Not ideal for: High-traffic websites needing advanced features.
Final Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐(4/5)
